Beaches around Bolsena Lake
San Lorenzo Nuovo beach is a middle size beach situated in the northern side of Bolsena lake. Here the lake has a grassy and tree-lined shore. The beach leads to the large river mouth which constitutes the boundary between San Lorenzo Nuovo beach and Grotte di Castro beach.
Grotte di Castro beach is larger and more spacious than San Lorenzo Nuovo beach due to the lack of trees. It is a beautiful and relaxing beach with bigger strand than San Lorenzo Nuovo.
Gradoli beach and L’Oasi del Pescatore restaurant
The road from Grotte di Castro beach to Gradoli beach has lavish vegetation with trees, mostly poplars and reeds. On the way you can see some very good restaurants with delicious fish and pasta dishes.
I recommend you L’Oasi del Pescatore where Maria is preparing homemade mouthwatering pasta dishes with sea food and fish from the lake.
L’Oasi del Pescatore has a beautiful and romantic location on top of a small rocky beach of the lake. Here you can admire the lake scenery with Bisentina island and many birds that nest here.
Gradoli beach stretches along the lake shore and is a paradise for nature lovers. In the beach restaurants you can enjoy typical dishes and great local wines.
Capodimonte beach
Capodimonte Beach is on the south side of lake Bolsena and is the longest beach with the best facilities of the lake.
The beach has fine grey sand near the water and grass with trees higher up to the promenade. Near the beach, on the promenade there are bars, ice cream shops and restaurants. In the restaurants you can enjoy delicious pizzas, fish and meat dishes, pasta and delicious deserts.
Among the facilities of this beach there are umbrellas, beach beds and bars. In the touristic harbor you can rent a boat trip on the lake. The children can play and swim in the water of the lake or in the parks for children on the lake shore and eat delicious pizza and homemade ice cream.
Marta town beaches
Marta Beach is beyond the numerous beautiful restaurants on the lake front. It is a sandy long beach where you can enjoy the sun and swim in the lake. Here you can visit Marta port and admire the beautiful Martana island and the river Marta, the only outflowing river of the lake.
There are 2 beaches from Marta to Montefiascone direction. One beach is in Kornos and is the biggest and most famous beach of Marta. This beach is dog friendly so you can take your dog with you and enjoy a relaxing day by the lake. Another one named La Cava is located in Borgo dei Pescatori di Marta.
From Marta to Montefiascone you can enjoy the beautiful lake views, take a bath and enjoy the restaurants and pizzerias along the lake promenade.
Bolsena town beaches
In Bolsena town you can go to La Spiaggetta beach, a sandy beach surrounded by trees. La Spiaggetta beach has umbrellas and beds were you can enjoy bathing in the sun. In the restaurant on the beach you can enjoy delicious fish dishes and pasta.
You can also go to Riva Verde and enjoy the grassy beach with umbrellas and beds where you can relax and swim in the lake. In the restaurant you can have a drink or coffee from the bar and you can enjoy delicious dishes.
In Bolsena town you can go to the sandy free beach near the touristic port, where you can have an ice cream, coffee and lunch at the terraces on the lake shore.
