Sovana is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy with a rich and fascinating Etruscan heritage since the 2nd and 3rd century B.C.
From Bolsena you can drive by car in Gradoli direction, to Latera and take the road to Pitigliano through the beautiful green hills of Toscana.
San Lorenzo Nuovo – an ideal town at Bolsena Lake, was built on the second half of year 1700 on the command of Pope Clement XIV. Pope Clement XIV wanted to give a new place to live to the citizens of the old town where land was sliding.
Grotte di Castro has its origins back in Etruscan times. You can visit the Etruscan necropolis dating back to the 6th century B.C. in Pianezze. The necropolis is characterized by tombs with rooms hollowed out in the tufa. The Pianezze necropolis is part of a vaster Etruscan settlement that was on the hill called Civita.
Marta town belonged to Farnese Family as part of the Dukedom of Castro. The documented history of Marta begins in 726 A.C. when its name appears in a donation act for the establishment of Saint Peter’s estate in Tuscia.
Bolsena lake is the biggest volcanic lake in Europe, with the length of 13,5 km and the diameter of 12 km that hosts two beautiful islands in its center: Bisentina island and Martana island.
